There are artistic skills in ALL of us.

I believe that practice makes improvement. With time we can all develop our artistic style and voice.

I teach classes based in watercolor painting, block printing, creating/using natural pigments, drawing, and book binding. I have taught with: Bainbridge Island Museum of Art, Camp Craftaway, Gage Academy of Art, North Seattle College (Continuing Education Department), The Works Seattle, and Wildcraft.

I have also taught youth based art classes at: Hawthorne Elementary, Sandpoint Elementary, Summit Atlas, and Dry Creek Elementary in Port Angeles (in conjunction with the Port Angeles Fine Arts Center).

Feedback From Students

  • “There was a great balance of demonstration, individual work time and personal feedback. I feel like Robin really shows care in her interactions with students, gives great encouragement as well as generative feedback”

Student from “Watercoloring Fall Botanical” class

  • "Robin was great - super encouraging and gave great feedback. She was clearly very knowledgeable. Will definitely try to take more classes with her in the future."

    Student from “Fungi Watercolor” class

  • "[My daughter] has been enjoying the class and I’ve seen her trying new things, which is great! I’m very glad that she hasn’t gone to her perfectionism/negative place in class. Thank you for a creating a safe space for the kids to explore!"

Parent from “Watercoloring the Puget Sound” class

  • “Every class with Robin I learn something new - how to draw, paint, sometimes fix things. Now, when I sit down and start painting, I literally visualize Robin demonstrating techniques I want to use. I finally am in control of media (well, most of the time) and don't struggle that much anymore.”

Student from “Watercoloring Spring Florals” class

  • “I really enjoy Robin’s teaching style. She has introduced us to new techniques each week that build on one another.”
