Commissions from 2021

2021 marked the year where I had the chance to create a handful of commissions. I was honored to have been asked to work on the pieces and wanted to share them.

Hidden Hare

In the beginning of 2021 I created a slug and snail in the style of their outline filled with different floral motifs. A client reached out and asked if I could do the same with a rabbit. I was very excited to expand the series! The florals that were used were ones that a rabbit eats: blueberries, cosmos, zinnias and snap dragons. I love the problem solving to figure out how to place the florals in the shape. In particular I love the zinnias placed where the eye and nose are, and the big leaves where the back feet are.

Houseboat Mural

I designed and painted a houseboat mural. The client wanted a bold and geometric shaped mural. We decided on a bright color palette and figuring out the perfect shade of yellow was the trickiest part of the design. The trickiest part of painting it wasn’t the curved lines. It was standing on a ladder on a moving lake. I definitely felt like I was still on the water even after I was on dry land.

Presents for Others

These five pieces were commissioned as gifts for others. My favorite part of these were hearing the recipient’s reaction! Hearing “thanks for sharing your talents with such a beautiful keepsake” or “she loved, loved, loved them” made my day.
